What I Expect
In this class, I expect to hone my craft and presentation skills. Although concept and form are important parts of any final design, I believe that craft is what is going to make it or break it in the end and put me on par with other designers in the field. I guess I would say that it is like the icing on the cake if I was going to use a cheesy saying to sum it up. Paying attention to your craft and working your idea to form the perfect presentation, as far as my point of view, is an advanced way of looking at design and something that I want to make a more integral part of my process.
Project Idea
I think a great project would be a website... not for a store or company but maybe a Design for Good something, or social niche site, or a new radical product. It would give opportunities to work on a multiple page document and editorial style image making for a portfolio piece and could be fun to mock up a work flow to show it off. I have no design brief, but Just an idea to run with.
Concerns
Reiterating some of the thought I had in the first part of this musing, I am most concerned with looking the part of designer and being able to present my ideas with authority and confidence. I need to work on my typography skills and remember to "design" everything I do... like this post, which I chose to not design.
